Great shot! I love the larvae of the Orchard Swallowtail Butterfly's defense mechanisms. It's so bizarre and unique.

I always thought they were trying to mimic a snake. Rearing their head while flashing their "forked tongue"!

maybe, never thought about it like that. I know when the red horns/tongue come out they release an odor thats supposed to repel the predator
